In Memory of Professor J.S. Chang

It is with sadness that we inform the McMaster community of the passing of Jen-Shih Chang, Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Engineering. 

Jen-Shih joined the Department of Engineering Physics as an Assistant Professor in July of 1979 and was promoted to Professor in July of 1987.  Jen-Shih taught and conducted research in environmental and energy-related technologies. He was recognized internationally for his research expertise and continued his highly productive endeavours even after his retirement from McMaster in July of 2005. 

Throughout his time at McMaster, Jen-Shih was a prolific supervisor and his students have gone on to success in industry, government and academia.  He was a dynamic and cheerful person and will be greatly missed by his colleagues and former students.

Jen-Shih is survived by his wife Fusa Sue-Len, son Tekka and daughter Keika.

A visitation will take place at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. East, on Sunday, March 6 from 2-5 PM.
