Awards & Funding


Most graduate students admitted to the Masters and Ph.D. programmes in Engineering Physics will receive financial support in the form of a teaching assistantship and a departmental scholarship. The minimum level of support varies from year to year. Students who are recipients of a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Scholarship or other external/internal scholarships will receive increased levels of support.

A wide selection of awards for academic excellence are available for students registered in Engineering Physics.  Please see the School of Graduate Studies Calendar, Section 8, regarding Fellowships, Scholarships, Bursaries and Other Awards. Note that students in Engineering Physics are eligible for the following scholarships awarded by the University:

  • The Eugene G. Bolotkin Scholarships
  • The Frank Dennee Scholarship
  • The Robert John Morris Scholarship
  • Clifton W. Sherman Graduate Scholarships for Doctoral Study in Science and Engineering
  • Governor General’s Gold Medal
  • GSA Travel Assistance Grants
  • The Ronald K. Ham Memorial Scholarship
